Sri Kamalanathan Visvanatha Kurukkal
joined as a Resident Priest at the Maha Ganapathy Temple on August 21, 2011. He is the eldest son
of well-known and famous Chief Priest Shiva Sri Visvanatha Kurukkal. He was
attached to Old Kathirvelayutha Swami Temple
in Chetty Street, Colomb and Old
Kathirvelayutha Swami Vinayagar Temple
(Vajira Pillaiyar Temple) in Bambalapitiya, Sri Lanka. He performed all special rituals necessary to
complete his priesthood under the guidance of Shiva Sri Karakugavaratha
Kurukkal on December 3, 2008. He is a fully fledged priest and has performed
all special poojas, including the famous “Aadi Vel” festival in Colombo. |

Sri Waran Kurukkal joined as the Resident
Religiuos Superior at the Maha Ganapathy
Temple on June 24, 2019. He is a grandson
of the well-known priest Sri Kailasanatha
Kurukkal of Nainativu, Sri Lanka. He completed
his priesthood training and received his
Acharya Abishekam in July 2010 to become
a Kurukkal.
After becoming a Kurukkal, he has served as
the Chief Priest at the Ahilandeswari
Sametha Ahilandeswarar Temple in Vavuniya, Sri
Lanka for over 8 years. During his
tenure, he has participated in Kumbabishekams
and Mahotsavams at many temples in Sri
Lanka.
